Ascertain: |
- activities of the club or association
- whether club is trading or not
- dealings with third parties - extensive or minimal

Consider: |
- constitution and Statement of Purposes
- adoption of "Model Rules" or amend. For example, entrance fees,
subscriptions, due dates, winding up clauses, etc
- do you want to share assets on winding up?

Accounts: |
- Registers of members, committee members and office bearers, public
officers and borrowings
|
Property |
Land:
- Land held in trust for club automatically vests in the incorporated association,
but it is necessary to transfer land and property into the name of the
incorporated association.
Leases:
- Consider the term of the lease, provision for assignment, etc. Consider
whether it would be easier to re-make contract.

Procedure for Incorporation
The procedure for incorporation consists of the following steps:
- convene a meeting of members of the association
- prepare a Statement of Purpose and, if Model Rules inappropriate, Rules
- majority of members resolve to appoint the applicant, approve the name, and approve the
Statement of Purpose and Rules
- identify all trusts and collate all deeds and instruments relating to such trusts
- prepare minutes of meeting
- Complete and lodge forms 1 & 2 with the Registrar together with a cheque for $60.00
