Duty Statement - Centre Manager

Subordinates:  AEO 2.0/Sessional Staff

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:  
Australian Quality Training Framework:  
Ensure compliance with all AQTF Standards and ensure currency of compliance with all responsibilities of AQTF roles of:  

            Managing Director 
            Overall responsibility for the whole AQTF system and, in particular, Standards 1,2 & 9

            Office Administrator 
            Responsibility for elements of Standard 4

            Finance Manager  
            Responsibility for Standards 3 & 4

            Training Manager  
            Responsibility for elements of Standards 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 & 11

            Marketing Manager  
            Responsibility for elements of Standards 7,8,11 & 12

            HR Manager  
            Responsibility for elements of Standards 2,4 & 6

Organisational:  
Evaluation of the organisation’s effectiveness in achieving its stated purpose, goals and mission is by use of a set of key performance indicators relating to client satisfaction, profitability, growth and sustainability and of the group morale (Centre Manager, students, tutors and the Board of Management). These indicators, as listed below, should be evaluated and reported on a regular basis.  

The Centre Manager is accountable to the Board of Management for:  

Achievement of requirements of all funding sources including student contact hour and delivery       requirements of Adult, Community and Further Education
 

Achievement, including progress toward achievement, of the Board of Management Strategic Planning initiatives  

Contribution to, and achievement of, the established indicators of success, including client satisfaction, profitability, growth & sustainability, success rate on funding submissions, group morale, levels of absenteeism, levels of student re-enrolment, number of registered students, level of re-nomination (of Board Members) to the Board and second contract/continuing contract tutors together with satisfaction on tutor evaluation.

Key Tasks:  

Supervise and assist in planning, publishing and servicing the centre’s programs  

Liaise with the Board of Management, staff, tutors, volunteers and class participants.  

Represent and reflect the aims of CDAEG at a local, regional and state-wide level and to act as a resource person for the local community in the development of learning opportunities.  

Supervise the placement and support of students through interview, assessment and counselling.  

Oversee the preparation, teaching and evaluation of programs.  

Monitor and evaluate tutor performance and student progress.  

Assist staff with timetabling and planning of classes and conduct evaluation of programs.  

Provide opportunities for professional development of staff.  

Guide the development of appropriate curriculum.  

Develop and monitor stocks and supplies of resource materials and inform staff of availability and suitability.  

Develop and support outreach programs  

Attend Board of Management, in-service, professional development meetings and seminars.

Management skills including staff and financial  

Effective administration skills and knowledge of computers and associated technology in education  

Ability to relate to a wide variety of people  

Understanding of the connection between community education and community development

Skills in initiating and implementing team-based provision of adult learning programs  

Ability to direct, supervise and support other team members  

Ability to liaise and network with other community agencies including business and professional groups

understanding of government guidelines.  

CONDITIONS

Performance appraisal will be according to pre-established criteria. The position is based in Camperdown and the appointee is expected to generate programs in other towns in the district.  

Base salary will be in accordance with industry determination.
