Tutors
are accountable to the Centre Manager as Training Manager, Corangamite District
Adult Education Group Inc to ensure that the quality of training and, where
appropriate, assessment is consistent with the requirements of course curriculum
and learning outcomes for training packages on our Scope of Registration. Tutors
are key stakeholder in the achievement and evaluation of the organisation’s
effectiveness in achieving its stated purpose, goals and mission is by use of a
set of key performance indicators relating to client satisfaction,
profitability, growth and sustainability and of the group morale.
Tutors
engaged in the delivery of nationally accredited courses are accountable to the
Centre Manager for
Achievement
of requirements of all funding sources including student contact hour and
delivery requirements of Adult, Community and Further Education
Achievement,
including progress toward achievement, of the Board of Management Strategic
Planning initiatives
Contribution to, and achievement of, the established indicators of success, including client satisfaction, profitability, growth & sustainability, success rate on funding submissions, group morale, levels of absenteeism, levels of student re-enrollment, number of registered students, level of re-nomination (of Board Members) to the Board and second contract/continuing contract tutors together with satisfaction on tutor evaluation.
Key
Tasks:
To
conduct nationally accredited courses:
in
a professional manner and in accordance with the stated course objectives
and learning outcomes
adopting
adult learning principles
maintaining the student’s right to privacy and confidentiality
Represent
and reflect the aims and code of conduct of CDAEG
Prepare,
teach/facilitate and evaluate learner progress and completion of programs
Develop appropriate timetabling and planning of classes and conduct evaluation of
programs.
Participate
in professional development determined necessary for the delivery of specific
courses
Contribute
to the development of curriculum and assessment tools strategies
The
key tasks should reflect the requirements of organisational policy detailed as
follows:
Workplans
All
tutors and instructors are required to prepare Work Plans, which indicate
outcomes required of the course of instruction. Whilst some funded courses
include mandatory curriculum standards that must be adhered to, Work Plans are
still required of tutors, however, these Work Plans must be developed in
conjunction with the stated outcomes of such courses).
Assessment/Evaluation
of Student Progress
Student
assessment is necessary to ensure parity and consistency across programs.
Student assessment should be appropriate to the student’s personal objectives.
Tutors and instructors, in designing student’s on-going assessment, will be
guided by the principles of access and equity, self- assessment, voluntary
assessment, confidentiality, flexibility and diversity of assessment methods,
e.g. written, oral, interview.
Curriculum Vitae
All
tutors are required to submit a Curriculum Vitae and/or resume prior to
commencement of any course of instruction. These requirement assist in
determining and recording tutors qualifications and experience in the related
disciplines.
Tutor
Assessment/Evaluation of Courses
All
tutors are required to evaluate the courses they have conducted. This enables a
self-assessment process and assists the Centre Manager in determining planning
and programming of similar, future courses.
Tutor Evaluation and Appraisal
Performance
Appraisal of tutors and instructors is a process by which the Centre Manager
ensures that staff deliver quality programs. The Centre Manager will ensure that
tutors and instructors provide course or curriculum outline, provide evidence of
course preparation, i.e. content, processes, resources, etc., have the ability
to manage the learning processes, have the ability to adapt the course to suit
adult learners, have the ability to set objectives, have the ability to assess
learning, have the ability to evaluate the course and are prepared to maintain
current appropriate knowledge and expertise in the field.
Further,
tutors and instructors will be evaluated by students on confidential student
course evaluation forms.
QUALIFICATIONS:
SKILLS
As required.
CONDITIONS
Agreement
to undergo a police check
Performance appraisal will be according to pre-established criteria.
Positions are sessional and can be either casual
or part-time.
Base salary will be $25 per hour
